about

From Mathieu Duval's 'My Record Collection' website:
'Incredibly short yet incredibly sweet outing by the sunburned ones. The Splintering is a two part epic (which is probably where the title comes from). The first part feels like a quick nod back to The Secret In Disguise; the same vocal effects are used as is the cheap electronic lullaby tune. It's not quite as potent as The Secret, but it's acidic nature will certainly burn a hole through your skull nonetheless. It's when the song shifts gears towards the middle mark that it becomes way more chaotic and fucked. Drones, un-tuned guitars, zoned-out vocals and other assorted noises make their way into your ears and tamper with your brain cells. Instant lobotomy! There's an incredibly creepy ranting bit towards the end of the track which must be heard to be believed. It basically sounds like someone is reading a passage from the Book Of The Dead from the film Evil Dead.'
