about

From Mathieu Duval's My Record Collection' website:
'Sunburned continue their series of "G" albums with this sonic oddity. Most of the five tracks on Glek are like minimalist electronic exercises; something along the lines of Perry & Kingsley could they have recorded something over fifteen thousand years ago. Synthesizers dominate throughout the album with only a few tunes using a steady drum beat for the listener to rely on. It takes a while for Krik to lift off, but once it does (about midway through), the rest of the album goes by in a flash! Piling on the strange melodies, drones and various noises for a curiously entertaining listen. Meltmen has this twisted, early Residents vibe going for it while Triangle-9 finds the jazzy elements of earlier installments bubbling up from within the muck. Some other tracks, like Bremburn, remind me of Excepter during one of their more disoriented jams (and without any vocals). Glek is for those of you who like the collective at their strangest only!'
