about

from Mathieu Duval's 'My Record Collection' website:
'the first Manhand cassette release. We're losing them. The Sunburned ones are really getting more and more abstract with each new release! This one is absolutely mind-boggling. Unlike Zample Volume One, which was just way too skeletal for me to enjoy, this one comes at you thick and juicy. That distorted bass buzz sound which has been used on a regular basis is practically sounded throughout this recording and twenty minutes is a perfect length not to over do it! It comes with slightly different 8X11' xeroxed paper artwork with the CD-R housed in a thin paper sleeve and glued to the back. Why have released a cassette at all when this was planned, I have no idea. Besides the cheap-ass artwork, this version is much more convenient.'

Puppet Heaven is a 4-track tape-collage piece put together by Sunburned's Paul Labrecque. This was originally released as a cassette to be sold on the Sunburned / Magik Markers No Way Out 2005 Tour. A cd-r edition came later. The release is packaged in a 6-8 page 8.5x11 stapled book of flyers that a mysterious weirdo posted all over the Amherst area around that time.
The music is a mix of sped-up, slowed down, editied and manipulated Sunburned loft recordings. We have no idea who in the group played on this.
