Wild Animal
Manhand 004 - 2001
Originally released as a cdr in different small editions.
A Sunburned Classic.

Featuring – Brian Donnely, Cooper, Capistran, Cousin Rich, Critter, Bohill, Moloney, Orleans, Franklin, Pontius, R Thomas

Recorded live in Massachusetts. 2000-2001. Some of this material comes from the Stone For... Concert on Amherst Common and the rest probably comes from the Sunburned loft in Charlestown, Massachusetts.

Lettering by Joshua Burkett. Drawing by Chad Cooper. Album editing by Rob Thomas.

From Mathieu Duval's 'My Record Collection' website:

Almost as potent as Jaybird, Wildanimal boasts forth Sunburned Hand Of The Man's ability to really stretch your mind like putty until you are able to perceive the sounds they create. There are some eastern influences on the first track, with raga-esque fake sitar sounds and throat singing (behind a wall of reverb of course). These guys must take some really crazy shit to make this stuff. Some of these songs remind me of the very obscure japanese group Brast Burn because of the repetitive motifs and mantra-like chanting. It's as psychedelic as ever, but not quite as intense as it's predecessor. It definitely put you in relaxed mode. Close your eyes, let yourself go and enjoy the ride; it'll be quite colorful!
